On the right under 'Duplicates of this Bug' is a link for 'Unsubscribe'. Next time you report an Ubutu bug don't select subscribe when it offers the option. Don't blame the system for doing what it was designed to do which is allow effective bug reporting and update the reporter on the status of his bug.
