zardoz, Vuen, since there is so much going on here (AHCI, no AHCI,
kernel versions, etc.), I'm going to mark this as "rejected" to close
it. If you could open new bug reports for the current specific behavior,
that would be fantastic. If it looks like AHCI SATA is the culprit,
we'll come update this one appropriately.

In the new bug reports, please be sure to include the following:

Include in the report the output of

    uname -a

Attach to the report the output of the following commands (one
attachment per command please, it's not necessary to make one big
attachment or to compress the attachments):

sudo lspci -vv

sudo lspci -vvn

sudo dmidecode

Please be sure to use sudo, root privileges are required to obtain the
needed information.

Finally, please do the following sequence:

1. Boot

2. Hibernate

3. Attempt to resume

4. Reboot (however you need to)

5. Attach /var/log/kern.0.log to the new bug report: It will cover steps
1-3 and show us what was happening during that failed sequence.
