Yes , you are right , the names are repeated far away... It isnt very effective. That was because it was suggested to not have a mouse-over effect , of the icon beneath the pointer... How about adding voice? We could add voice to the whole store... When user opens the software store from the menu , a "Welcome to Ubuntu Software Store" is heard , and... When user hovers over the Department icons , the names are mentioned and probably a very short intro about the menu? We need to make sure that the voice is never loud and user can choose to switch off the voice... Maybe it sounds too complicated... :( Hmm...
