i think i have the same problem but then with ubuntu 9.04... even if i wait a little at the login screen (the black thing to enter username) it still freezes... keyboard is unresponsive... (it doesn't flicker like it used to when my cpu got to hot...) mouse still works for a while... but then it stops aswell...
