Intel's 82865G/PE/P PCI to AGP Controller Freezes Kubuntu 9.10 B5

I chose to upgrade from Kubuntu 9.04 KDE 4.3.1 to 9.10 KDE 4.2.1 instead of
starting from clean slate using ISO.
During the upgrade using Aptitude, I had to manually resolve dependency
conflicts. Everything worked fine until the
X-server was upgraded. Kubuntu 9.10 freezes every single time right after a
reboot. I made sure to verify that there was
no hardware issues (Memory, Disks, etc.). I also booted with Safe-Mode (no
graphics) and everything worked fine without any freeze.

I installed nVidia NV6 [Vanta/Vanta LT] VGA compatible controller and
system worked great and didn't freeze a single time.
