yes, there is a feature inside that allows you to update azureus plugins 
(azureus is having this behaviour since a lot of releases, so this is not a 
*new* feature). But as Onkar said those core-updates are disabled in both 
Debian / Ubuntu packaging. (anyway they install everything into user's $HOME, 
so nothing will be installed randomly inside the system)
