Sorry, the metapackage is here to pull exactly what's required for the
UNR experience, and it just does. You're free to remove the metapackage
and its depends should remain installed. That is, you can remove
ubuntu-netbook-remix and maximus and keep the rest (netbook-launcher,
etc.).
I dont want to go for a Recommends either because this is frowned upon
as it doesn't ensure you get the UNR packages/setup.
The choice of installing maximus by default is one of the opinionated
choices which make UNR what it is, it's certainly not on the table to
not install it by default or not make it the default.
