When this issue occurs I see /var/log/Xorg.0.log * (II) AIGLX: Resuming AIGLX client after VT switch * (EE) fglrx(0): Cannot get requested mode 0 x 0 @ 0.000000 * (EE) fglrx(0): Falling back to last mode in modelist 320 x 200 @ 60.000000 This suggests that the wrong mode is being passed during user switch. I'm not yet sure where the issue lies.
