what I had to do was to completely uninstall the driver. and then install the driver. and after that it worked. see: https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/4835 toshiba laptop Satellite R15 using a dynex pcmcia 01:05.0 Network controller [0280]: Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 2200BG [Calexico2] Network Connection [8086:4220] (rev 05) Subsystem: Intel Corporation Unknown device [8086:2741] Control: I/O- Mem+ BusMaster+ SpecCycle- MemWINV- VGASnoop- ParErr- Stepping- SERR- FastB2B- Status: Cap+ 66MHz- UDF- FastB2B+ ParErr- DEVSEL=medium >TAbort- <TAbort- <MAbort- >SERR- <PERR- Latency: 64 (750ns min, 6000ns max), Cache Line Size: 32 bytes Interrupt: pin A routed to IRQ 11 Region 0: Memory at cffff000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=4K] Capabilities: [dc] Power Management version 2 Flags: PMEClk- DSI+ D1- D2- AuxCurrent=0mA PME(D0+,D1-,D2-,D3hot+,D3cold+) Status: D0 PME-Enable- DSel=0 DScale=1 PME- 01:08.0 Ethernet controller [0200]: Intel Corporation 82801DB PRO/100 VE (MOB) Ethernet Controller [8086:103d] (rev 83) Subsystem: Toshiba America Info Systems Unknown device [1179:0001] Control: I/O+ Mem+ BusMaster+ SpecCycle- MemWINV- VGASnoop- ParErr- Stepping- SERR- FastB2B- Status: Cap+ 66MHz- UDF- FastB2B+ ParErr- DEVSEL=medium >TAbort- <TAbort- <MAbort- >SERR- <PERR- Latency: 64 (2000ns min, 14000ns max), Cache Line Size: 32 bytes Interrupt: pin A routed to IRQ 11 Region 0: Memory at cfffe000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=4K] Region 1: I/O ports at bf40 [size=64] Capabilities: [dc] Power Management version 2 Flags: PMEClk- DSI+ D1+ D2+ AuxCurrent=0mA PME(D0+,D1+,D2+,D3hot+,D3cold+) Status: D0 PME-Enable- DSel=0 DScale=2 PME- 01:0b.0 CardBus bridge [0607]: Texas Instruments PCIxx21/x515 Cardbus Controller [104c:8031] Subsystem: Toshiba America Info Systems Unknown device [1179:0001] Control: I/O+ Mem+ BusMaster+ SpecCycle- MemWINV- VGASnoop- ParErr- Stepping- SERR- FastB2B- Status: Cap+ 66MHz- UDF- FastB2B- ParErr- DEVSEL=medium >TAbort- <TAbort- <MAbort- >SERR- <PERR- Latency: 168, Cache Line Size: 128 bytes Interrupt: pin A routed to IRQ 11 Region 0: Memory at cff04000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=4K] Bus: primary=01, secondary=02, subordinate=02, sec-latency=176 Memory window 0: 6c000000-6ffff000 (prefetchable) Memory window 1: 70000000-73fff000 I/O window 0: 0000b000-0000b0ff I/O window 1: 0000b400-0000b4ff BridgeCtl: Parity- SERR- ISA- VGA- MAbort- >Reset- 16bInt- PostWrite+ 16-bit legacy interface ports at 0001 01:0b.2 FireWire (IEEE 1394) [0c00]: Texas Instruments OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 Host Controller [104c:8032] (prog-if 10 [OHCI]) Subsystem: Toshiba America Info Systems Unknown device [1179:0001] Control: I/O- Mem+ BusMaster+ SpecCycle- MemWINV- VGASnoop- ParErr- Stepping- SERR- FastB2B- Status: Cap+ 66MHz- UDF- FastB2B- ParErr- DEVSEL=medium >TAbort- <TAbort- <MAbort- >SERR- <PERR- Latency: 64 (500ns min, 1000ns max), Cache Line Size: 32 bytes Interrupt: pin C routed to IRQ 11 Region 0: Memory at cff05000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=2K] Region 1: Memory at cff00000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=16K] Capabilities: [44] Power Management version 2 Flags: PMEClk- DSI- D1+ D2+ AuxCurrent=0mA PME(D0+,D1+,D2+,D3hot+,D3cold-) Status: D0 PME-Enable- DSel=0 DScale=0 PME+ 01:0b.4 SD Host controller [0805]: Texas Instruments PCI6411/6421/6611/6621/7411/7421/7611/7621 Secure Digital Controller [104c:8034] (prog-if 01) Subsystem: Toshiba America Info Systems Unknown device [1179:0001] Control: I/O- Mem+ BusMaster+ SpecCycle- MemWINV- VGASnoop- ParErr- Stepping- SERR- FastB2B- Status: Cap+ 66MHz- UDF- FastB2B- ParErr- DEVSEL=medium >TAbort- <TAbort- <MAbort- >SERR- <PERR- Latency: 64 (1750ns min, 1000ns max), Cache Line Size: 32 bytes Interrupt: pin D routed to IRQ 11 Region 0: Memory at cff05800 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=256] Region 1: Memory at cff05900 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=256] Region 2: Memory at cff05a00 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=256] Capabilities: [80] Power Management version 2 Flags: PMEClk- DSI- D1+ D2+ AuxCurrent=0mA PME(D0+,D1+,D2+,D3hot+,D3cold-) Status: D0 PME-Enable- DSel=0 DScale=0 PME- 02:00.0 Network controller [0280]: Broadcom Corporation BCM4318 [AirForce One 54g] 802.11g Wireless LAN Controller [14e4:4318] (rev 02) Subsystem: Belkin Unknown device [1799:7d1a] Control: I/O- Mem+ BusMaster+ SpecCycle- MemWINV- VGASnoop- ParErr- Stepping- SERR- FastB2B- Status: Cap- 66MHz- UDF- FastB2B- ParErr- DEVSEL=fast >TAbort- <TAbort- <MAbort- >SERR- <PERR- Latency: 64 Interrupt: pin A routed to IRQ 11 Region 0: Memory at 70000000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=8K] -- Hardware drivers show Broadcom B43 Wireless Driver in use, but wireless doesn't show in Network Manager https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/191408 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
