Sounds like X is crashing when you try to switch users. (And is a
different bug than the one originally reported, most likely) You would
most likely want to report a bug against your video driver, attaching
the output of the command lspci -vvnn and a copy of the file
/var/log/Xorg.0.log.old after a failed user switch/Alt+SysRq+REISUB.
