No i havent filed a new bug but perhaps i will. Yes i am sure about Packagekit not being default. Packagekit has been dropped from Ubuntu all together in favour of AppCenter. There is a thread in the Karmic Testing and Discussion section of the Ubuntu Forum.
But yes it was finally suppose to be default for Karmic but then again as was it suppose to be for Intrepid and Jaunty.
