My problem is now fixed. I will try and explain what happened. I had a broken soft link that was preventing me from doing the updates. (as you can see in the term.log)
raise ValueError, "/usr/bin/python does not match the python default version. It must be reset to point to %s" % debian_default This broken soft link was not caused by any bug, I was switching python versions while doing testing. Once I fixed the soft link to point to Python2.6 the updates ran. Upgraded the following packages: apport (1.0-0ubuntu5) to 1.0-0ubuntu5.2 gnome-app-install (0.5.24-0ubuntu1) to 0.5.24-0ubuntu1.1 python-apport (1.0-0ubuntu5) to 1.0-0ubuntu5.2 python-problem-report (1.0-0ubuntu5) to 1.0-0ubuntu5.2 Then I opened up the Package Manager and attempted to uninstall the gedit-plugins and it was successful in un-installing. until today i was able to install packages I would just get an error at the end. E: gedit-plugins: subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1 So that part of my previous post (about being unable to do updates) was a problem not related to this bug, at least in my case. -- package gedit-plugins 2.26.1-0ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/369696 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
