I confirm this method works too.

I have a SB700 based motherboard, and with beta and RC I have exactly
the same issue if I try to boot with a live USB key.

And the first time I try to unplugged/repluged USB key when the upslash
appears was the good one !

Just before the upslash, it seems I have get a message invoking a "ata1
softreset" or something like that, and during the upslah (if I do
nothing), Jaunty seems to look on other disk but not on the USB key (no
LED activity).

Anyway, thanks for this temporary solution !
