thanks for the tip, i'm away from home now so i'll contact you on later. One
question: Why is it that sound zorks perfectly when I select any of the
other kernels during the grub boot?  I am really warry wbout re-installing
onl stuff, particularly on my main machine.
As to HDMI etc, I am not using anything but the sound card output to
speakers. I run the rt-kernel because Rosegarden reauires it.
