you need to install the drivers for your Graphic Card. I already know what your thinking sound has nothing to do with the Graphic Card. Wrong. Sound runs through the Card for HDMI support to plugin to TV's and the like. If you want to resolve this you have to install your drivers again for your graphic card. Status in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Hi! After a long long time with no problems, and updating constantly on my AMD64 Ubuntu 8.04.2 system. Yesterday's (2009 03 25) rt-kernel and other updates have killed the sound. I get this message when I click on the sound adjustment icon: > The volume control did not find any elements and/or devices to control. This means either that you don't have the right GStreamer plugins installed, or that you don't have a sound card configured.
