Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: irssi

I use Miredo to get IPv6 access. I can get to ipv6.google.com just
fine. I can ping ipv6.chat.us.freenode.net and telnet to
ipv6.chat.us.freenode.net on port 6667. So I'm not having any
connection issues IPv6 in general, but most of the time Irssi can't do
it. Running Wireshark, I can see that there are no UDP packets being
sent after the DNS queries complete. There should be a bunch of UDP
packets full of encapsulated IPv6 packets.

I've successfully connect to an IPv6 chat server with Irssi twice. It
has failed on at least 10 occasions.

This is on Jaunty.
Irssi: 0.8.12-6ubuntu1
2.6.28-8-generic

Oh, and one of my friends is using Hardy and says that Hardy's version
of Irssi has no problems with IPv6.
