I've installed Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid Ibex using acpi=off kernel switch, adding 'Option "AGPMode" "1"' to Device section of xorg.conf seems to have fixed the problem, ubuntu boots normally I can use wireless card and other devices now, thank you very much for a hint. I've tested with other AGPMode settings (2, 4, 8) but with no luck, 1 seems to be the only one which works.
