I expect that we will see the launchpad janitor add some messages here about a 
fix being released (I don't know for sure) and if so it will automatically 
change the status. Some time after that (minutes or hours, not days) you should 
see the updates are available icon in your panel and then you can just allow 
those updates as you usually do.  If you look at the packages first you should 
see xserver-xorg-input-synaptics 0.99.3-1uuntu2 and those will be Alberto's 
patches.

You won't have to use apt-get, but once you see them in the update
manager you can close the update manager and use apt-get if you want. If
not it will all be automatic.

My guess is that those who have tested the new package already have
downloaded it from packages.ubuntu.com and installed the downloaded .deb
with a lower level program. I'm going to wait myself.
