This may well be due to 2.6.28-3 has been obsoleted on Jaunty by 2.6.28-4. Still, the message is absolutely misleading.
BTW, this poses another question: currently I cannot boot to latest 2.6.28-4.9 because I fall through to BusyBox (no root device).
