Thanks for the answer. The way I tried to save them is described in the
bug description. The person I was talking with (on MSN) used a custom
smiley which I wanted to have, so I right clicked on it and selected the
option to save it as a custom smiley. A dialog popped up with the
emoticon and the text I should type to use it in a conversation. I tried
it but the image was not displayed.

However the emoticon doesn't appear in the list of custom smileys or the
area you mention in 5.

I will check next time and see what type of img file it was.
