I think the issue being reported is that "on wakeup, the shutdown dialog
appears"?  However the user has described it in terms of the timer and
how quickly it shuts down, etc., which is not really the issue at all!

I strongly suspect that the issue is that on that particular laptop
there is a problem in the suspend/resume code that accidentally triggers
the shutdown dialog when resuming.  It is important to report the actual
bug (shutdown dialog appears on resume, when it should not), rather than
have a bug report that describes a way in which someone thinks one could
work around the problem (make the shutdown dialog need confirmation).

Please confirm whether or not this is an accurate understanding of the
underlying issue.  If it is, please provide more detailed information on
your laptop make/model etc., so that others have a chance of reproducing
this issue.
