Hi 2CV67,

the linux-backports-modules package contains updated drivers to which
likely contains additional fixes to resolves issues like the one you are
seeing.  You should continue to just keep using the linux-backports-
modules package if it resolves the issue you are seeing.  The updated
drivers will not be backported to the main kernel package - hence the
reason we have a linux-backports-modules package.  So for now I'm
marking this "Fix Released" against linux-backports-modules package and
"Won't Fix" against the linux package.

Also, there is an even newer release, Intrepid Ibex 8.10, which you may
want to give a try as well.  You should be able to test via a LiveCD.
