** Summary changed: - No Sound with VIA VT1708B on Ubuntu 8.10 64 bits - Audio onboard Asus M3N78-VM + No Sound with VIA VT1708B on Ubuntu 8.10 64 bits - (solved)
** Description changed: Hi all, This bug only affects the AMD64 bits distro. On the 32 bits distro of Ubuntu 8.10, ALSA run OK and recognize the onboard Card. Since i have installed Ubuntu 8.10 AMD64 version on my PC, I haven't got no sound at all. The PC is an AMD Phenom 9950, 4Gb of RAM (800Mhz), Motherboard Asus M3N78-VM (audio and video onboard). I have made a report in the question #52946, but I did not be able to solve the problem. In this question I've found the follow kernel patch, although I don't know how to apply it: http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux-2.6.git;a=commit;h=f7278fd0a57ea6cde4988ab820851b01be20daef The alsa-info.sh report is located at http://www.alsa- project.org/db/?f=143b043522a9f2ceec82fe7cf930524b32fd23f3 (It has no useful information since the card is not recognized.) + + SOLVED with ALSA-DRIVER 1.0.18a ** Tags added: 64bits ** Tags removed: 64 bits -- No Sound with VIA VT1708B on Ubuntu 8.10 64 bits - (solved) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/306131 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
