I, personally, do not follow this bug for personal convenience but for the benefit of Ubuntu and Thunderbird. I was a member of the RFC821 and 822 Internet Engineering Task Forces to discuss e-mail extensions and that's the reason why I know and understand not only what is in the e-mail RFCs but also why they were written. I can tell you that, contrary what is stated above "imo", Thunderbird does not work "ito", according to their intentions.
