I would agree that the bugs are very similar; however, I use Firefox in KDE4 and it works very good. Also Open Office works very good as well.....but I am using OpenOffice3 from the PPA.
One of the things I do when I install kubuntu-desktop is go back and install kde and all the kde styles/themes in the repository.....so I have a fair list of styles in GTK Styles and Fonts drop down selection. Here is what I discovered: The crash was reproducable when "Use my KDE style in GTK applications" was set. When I selected "Use another style." The crash was not reproducable, except on the style named "qt4", which, I am assuming because of the crash, is the default style for "Use my KDE style in GTK applications."
