The version of linux-modules from intrepid-proposed seems to have
resolved the issue for me (no issues after a day of use) and has not
caused any further regressions. Turns out this bug also caused most of
my other problems, such as with sleep and hibernate, and it being fixed
has greatly improved performance.

I recommend releasing this soon since the issue affects a lot of users
and is something of a black eye for Intrepid Ibex. The number of people
I have noticed on Ubuntu Forums, for instance, with frequent kernel
panics and enormous logs is mind boggling, and I have traced a few of
them back to having iwlagn cards.
