I installed Ubuntu 7.04 and it installs just fine. So, I reckon there should not be any problem with the RAM. The Ubuntu 8.04 Live CD boots just fine, the check the CD for defects also does not report any errors. This indicates that the CD is fine. I get the following error message at 29 % The installer encountered an error copying files to the hard disk: -------------------------------------------- [Errno 5] Input/output error -------------------------------------------- This particular error is often due to a faulty CD/DVD disk or drive, or a faulty hard disk.
