Hi Antonio, I'd like to upstream this bug, however we don't have sufficient information to report it up. Could you please boot into a session where you're seeing this performance regression with compiz enabled, and attach the /var/log/Xorg.0.log from that session?
Also, if possible please retest against intrepid-beta or newer, either via an updated installed environment, or a LiveCD (which you can get from cdimage.ubuntu.com). @tuxo and everyone else, thanks for giving an indication that the issue may be present in alpha-6. At this point we don't have proof that you and antonio have precisely the same issue - performance issues can often have similar symptoms but unrelated causes (especially where the graphics hardware isn't identical). My guess is that with 3D enabled it's invoking software rendering to occur - but that's just a guess, and if it's true, the issues that cause that can vary widely. We'll know more once we have an Xorg.0.log and can upstream the bug. ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-video-ati (Ubuntu) Status: Triaged => Incomplete -- With desktop effects on scrolling is slow and laggy in firefox & other browsers https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/110384 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
