Changed "device used for DVD playback" and "raw device setup for DVD
access" from /dev/scd0 to /dev/dvd (media tab)

Also changed "directory a media in DVD drive will be mounted" (gui tab).
I honestly don't remember seeing this setting last year so perhaps its
something added since then?

After making changes closed xine and restarted it. Clicked on DVD button
on xine-gui and DVD plays.

Perhaps its wasn't intentional but you used the word "upgrade" in your
previous comment. I don't upgrade my system. I have separate partitions
on my system so when I move up/down to a new version of Ubuntu I also
reformat all my partitions, but /home, /home/photos and /home/parallels
and do a fresh install, so I'm not going from version X to version Y.
When I referred to updating I was talking about applying all the daily
patches to programs issued during the alpha stages.

As I read my original bug report it looks like the DVD drive in the
system used to be labeled /dev/cdrom0. I'm wondering if they referred to
the CD/DVD device in Gutsy as /dev/cdrom0, but then in Hardy Alpha1
moved on to calling it /dev/dvd, and xine didn't detect that, or there
wasn't a symlink added at that point on the Alpha, which caused the
problem at that point.

Good night/morning. Its 2:15a and I've got to go to sleep.
