But to answer your question, I'm not sure we are talking the same bug. In my circumstance it was an all or nothing proposition. NO DVDs played until I changed the settings in xine to /dev/scd0. Since reporting that bug I've moved on to Intrepid Ibex, and my setting is /dev/scd0. I honestly, can't remember if I made the change manually, or whether it detected it out the door as this was a fresh install a few months ago. I would suggest Oscar make sure that HIS dvd is actually /dev/scd0 and not some other device. If it were the latter it certainly would keep giving him that error.
