Re-report of this bug as per request. It seems to be possibly why I've had such erratic behaviour from the ath5k kernel driver, as noted here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/jockey/+bug/273825 (Note that bug 273825 is not particularly relevant other than that the poor behaviour with the kernel driver seems likely due to this bug rather than a problem with the ath5k driver itself.)
