I have exactly the same problem with Intrepid Alpla6, which is using the 2.4.1-1ubuntu6 version of the intel driver.

Device 8213 Ubuntu can not start with the default session. It works with xfce4 though. But when the program is doing some more intensive graphics, like animation, window expanding e.g., the X server will often crash. Some other users are also experiencing this with the G43 chipset.
