I respect that position; however, the question of usefulness of the service is secondary to the question of whether having them enabled by default results in Firefox not conforming to the requirements of "free software". If the issue of usefulness is deemed to be the primary issue, then Canonical will need to change the operating principles for Ubuntu, as well as the requirements for supported software in the Main repository. After all, I can present a rather strong argument for the usefulness of MP3 codecs, proprietary video card drivers, etc. - and yet the usefulness of none of those trumps the principles of free software Ubuntu promises nor the requirements for supported software in the Main repository. -- AN IRRELEVANT LICENSE IS PRESENTED TO YOU FREE-OF-CHARGE ON STARTUP https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/269656 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
