I have the same bug. I'm using running Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy on LG e500 LP55P. 00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) HD Audio Controller (rev 03)
-> Plug headphones wont mute speakers -> Can't control individually headphones and speakers in gnome volume.
