If anyone still interested: I got this error recently (15 min ago), and by now have managed to resolve it.
The problem was in my /etc/hosts file - it was missing "127.0.0.1 localhost" line. It was removed by "Network Settings" applet when I tried to add an alias "127.0.0.1 testhost" for my apache virtual host. -- Gnome settings manager error to start desktop https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/84876 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
