I downloaded and tested the Alpha5 of Intrepid Ibex 8.10.  The results
are better, and the sine wave effect seems to have diminished, and
though the transmission may oscillate, it isn't regular.  I was also
able to upload a couple 12 MB files, where as before I would keep
getting disconnected at about 1 - 3 MB of a 6 MB file.

I think this can be considered resolved with the 2.6.27 kernel, at least
for me.

I did have another issue where my keyboard quit working in Intrepid Ibex
8.10 but I'll see about filing another bug report for that issue.
