I would start all over with a verified CD. If something has gotten corrupted/wrong on your install, it can be difficult to clean completely.
I don't use synaptic myself. I would recommend to stay with the Update Manager for the normal updates, or even use "sudo apt-get upgrade" where you see exactly what's happening without a GUI coming in the way. I'll close this bug since the problem you had originally described was to due to a missing or corrupt CD. There is not much a package maintainer or developer can do with this bug report as it is now. ** Changed in: synaptic (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid -- package linux-wlan-ng None [modified: /var/lib/dpkg/info/linux-wlan-ng.list] failed to install/upgrade: cannot access archive: No such file or directory https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/267607 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
