The same here, installing with the Edgy Eft AMD64 installation CD. After the boot menu I see a very vague Ubuntu logo and after 3 a 4 minutes of loading my monitor reports "No signal" and everything is black. I cannot jump to another shell. Running in safe graphic mode is of no use just as with the suggested -noapic kernel boot option. I also have a ATI card: a Radeon 9600 which work fine with Dapper (the upgrade failed miserably so to get a working system I tried to install from scratch with this ISO). I also really really think more testing should be performed in the future to avoid these situations since this will scare away potential new users!
