I really love the idea of "unwrapping" for new releases (of either the
whole distribution or a new major release of a given app.) It's like
unwrapping a present. It doens't make much sense if you're just installing
a bugfix in glib and some updated ALSA support tho. I think the update icon
should say something about maintenance - perhaps let's look to the
iconography of the auto-repair industry, which has trained many people to
regularly tune-up their cars, just as we want to train people to apply
updates regularly.
