Hi,

I forgot one link:

http://bootsplash.org/snapshot3.png my current KDE desktop

This shows the color scheme and new gradients for the window decorations. The buttons still need serious work.

Bye,
Ken

Hi all,

I thought I might spur some creativity by posting some of the ideas I have played around with for kubuntu. Of course, all of these are SVGs, so if anyone wants to have those files as well, let me know.

As can be seen I have tried the ideas of a strong glass effect, so stick with the crystal theme, which is what we have, like it or not, for kde3. In addition I have used the color purple a lot - I seriously think we should go in this direction, color-wise. In addition, I used a camera pic for the bg of the login manager which is a neat idea, I think - not necessarily that pic, but something interesting and purple :-) Last but not least, I tried to use the world map texture in a first attempt at a kdm bg. I think this is nice as it supports the idea of linux for the whole world, etc. I am going to play around with making a normal desktop bg out of the world map idea as well.

If we can nail things down a bit, I'll start a wiki page (urghhhh, me no like wiki editing) :-)

Bye,
Ken
