We have opened two fully-funded PhD positions on an exciting problem at KTH, Royal Institute of Technology, in Stockholm, Sweden. The project is multidisciplinary with the grand goal of learning the molecular language of a cell, with a special focus on proteins. The positions are part of a larger consortium between KTH, Stockholm University, Science for Life Laboratory, and the Karolinska Institute which hires several PhD students and postdocs working together within the same consortium. The prospective doctoral students specifically announced in this call will join Hossein Azizpour's group at KTH at the division of Robotics, Perception, and Learning (RPL). These positions at Azizpour's group involve the machine learning aspect of the project where we either devise new or adapt existing deep learning models, especially deep generative and/or probabilistic models, for modeling proteins and their structural flexibility potentially in interaction with other proteins or generally molecules in a cell. As such, we primarily target machine learning venues but also contribute to general natural science journals in collaboration with the project partners. Sweden in general and Stockholm in particular is a great destination for both personal and professional life. In Sweden and specifically at KTH we deeply care about diversity, equality, sustainability, and work-life balance. Stockholm has been named the most innovative city of Europe and has one of the best startup ecosystems globally. At KTH, the prospective doctoral student becomes an employee of the university with a monthly salary 12 months/year for 4-5 years: https://nam04.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.dr.kth.se%2Fphd-salary-ladder%2F&data=05%7C01%7Cuai%40engr.orst.edu%7Ccea701580f1e465ed82a08db6376d513%7Cce6d05e13c5e4d6287a84c4a2713c113%7C0%7C0%7C638213134265133383%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000%7C%7C%7C&sdata=MV6Q2yWT4zMAIBLE7nY%2BRpBGsv8CAKnNiRxmQQYOD7k%3D&reserved=0
