We are searching for highly-motivated PhD and postdoc candidates who are interested in working at the forefront of research on causality, machine learning and healthcare. The research will be conducted jointly at the van der Schaar Lab <https://www.vanderschaar-lab.com/> at Cambridge University, UK and Shalit Lab <https://shalit.net.technion.ac.il/> at the Technion University, Israel, optionally as part of the ELLIS PhD program <https://ellis.eu/phd-postdoc>.
Our mission is to apply machine learning to real-world medical challenges. Our labs work on the cutting edge of applied work in the field, and we are also breaking new methodological ground at the intersection of machine learning and causality. Working with us offers exceptional academic diversity: among our researchers we have computer scientists, engineers, applied mathematicians, statisticians, econometricians, and physicists. The position is fully funded and will involve spending significant time both in Cambridge and the Technion.
