The conference proceedings will be available in SpringerLink. SUBMISSIONS Authors should prepare a manuscript of no more than 12 pages, including results, figures, and references, using the Springer Verlag contributed book style in LaTeX (SVMult) or MS Word. Authors should submit a PDF file through the EasyChair submission link. If accepted, the final version of the submission will include either the LaTeX source or MS Word, with all figures, and the generated PDF. EasyChair submission link: https://easychair.org/my/conference?conf=nafips2023<https://nam10.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Feasychair.org%2Fmy%2Fconference%3Fconf%3Dnafips2023&data=05%7C01%7Cvladik%40utep.edu%7Ce7435daeee2441b44b9008dae3c6c3f4%7C857c21d21a1643a490cfd57f3fab9d2f%7C0%7C0%7C638072740079302528%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000%7C%7C%7C&sdata=em24Mm6yNcWjPVWVvWdHZW%2FCzpVZNpQl4kDVNOD4Z%2BE%3D&reserved=0> If the manuscript is meant for a special session, the title you enter into the EasyChair system must have the name of the special session at the beginning (session_title: paper_title). For instance, if you are submitting a paper entitled "An Image Processing Algorithm to Detect Defects in Optical Fibers" to a special session on "Image and Signal Processing", the title you enter into the EasyChair system should be: "IMAGE AND SIGNAL PROCESSING: An Image Processing Algorithm to Detect Defects in Optical Fibers". In addition, please submit your contribution to the organizers of the Special Session. STUDENT PAPERS We strongly encourage students to submit papers under the mentorship of their faculty advisors. Special best paper awards will be presented at the conference banquet to recognize the accomplishments of students. To qualify, a student or a group of students must be the first or second author(s) of the paper. The papers will be judged based on both manuscript content and presentation quality. When you submit a paper to NAFIPS 2023, please indicate, in an email to Vladik Kreinovich vla...@utep.edu<mailto:vla...@utep.edu>, which of the authors are students SPECIAL SESSIONS Proposals for special sessions concentrating on fundamentals, algorithms, and innovative applications of fuzzy sets and systems are welcome. Submission of proposals should include a short description of the session, its relevance to the NAFIPS meeting, and a list of potential contributors. Special sessions will be open to all participants. Organizers of Special Sessions will be responsible for the reviewing process of papers within their session. Please send special session proposals to Prof. Vladik Kreinovich. Email: vla...@utep.edu<mailto:vla...@utep.edu> IMPORTANT DATES - Special session proposal deadline: January 30, 2023 - Special session notification: February 15, 2023 - Regular papers deadline: March 1, 2023 - Regular paper notification deadline: March 30, 2023 - Author registration deadline: April 15, 2023 - Conference dates: May 31 - June 2, 2022 CONFERENCE VENUE The conference will be held at the University of Cincinnati's new Digital Futures complex. https://ucdigitalfutures.com/<https://nam10.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fucdigitalfutures.com%2F&data=05%7C01%7Cvladik%40utep.edu%7Ce7435daeee2441b44b9008dae3c6c3f4%7C857c21d21a1643a490cfd57f3fab9d2f%7C0%7C0%7C638072740079302528%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000%7C%7C%7C&sdata=fnRdOHdelV0YLt1f12Kw5S1pje%2Fjn0cdkKCX%2FXYoa6Y%3D&reserved=0> The University of Cincinnati will serve as the venue for NAFIPS 2023. Founded in 1819, the University of Cincinnati ranks among the nation's best urban public research universities. Home to more than 47,000 students, 10,500 faculty and staff and 330,000 alumni, UC combines a Top 35 research university with a physical setting The New York Times calls "the most ambitious campus design program in the country." With the launch of Next Lives Here, the Cincinnati Innovation District, a $100 million JobsOhio investment, eight straight years of record enrollment, worldwide leadership in cooperative education, a dynamic academic health center and entry into the Big 12 athletic conference, UC's momentum has never been stronger. UC's annual budget tops $1.6 billion and its endowment totals $1.9 billion. The organizers are continuously monitoring Covid-19 related travel restrictions. We wish to proceed cautiously and within the parameters of public health guidelines to ensure health and safety of all the participants. NAFIPS 2023 will take place in-person and may move on to hybrid mode depending on a surge in Covid-19 cases.
