The Visual Artificial Intelligence Laboratory at Oxford Brookes University,
led by Professor Fabio Cuzzolin, is seeking a Research Administrator, to be
appointed as soon as possible after March 1st 2021, 0.2 FTE (one day a
week), for four years (48 months).

As Research Administrator you will provide comprehensive administrative
support for the research conducted in the Visual Artificial Intelligence
Laboratory, in particular under the new Epistemic AI Horizon 2020 research
project coordinated by Prof Cuzzolin.

You will support the project management activities concerning the Epistemic
AI H2020 project, take charge of all the relevant paperwork, help manage
the recruitment process of new research staff or students, arrange meetings
and interviews, advise academic staff about funding opportunities, organise
the induction of new members, liaise with the structure in regard of office
space and equipment, manage external communications, keep up to date with
current issues in a research environment and liaise with HR regarding visa
regulations.

The successful candidate will have significant demonstrable administrative
experience, minute-taking experience, good IT skills and an understanding
of centralised database management systems, an ability to work on their own
initiative, team-working experience, problem-solving skills, a flexible
approach to working and excellent communication skills.

Experience of working in an HE environment and experience of administrative
support for research and consultancy bids are desirable.

The Visual Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (

unit currently running on a budget of £3 million from eight live projects
funded by the EU (2), Innovate UK (2), Leverhulme, and others. Our research
interests span artificial intelligence, uncertainty theory, machine
learning, computer vision, autonomous driving, surgical and mobile
robotics, AI for healthcare.

You will join a vibrant and fast growing team foreseen to comprise 35+
people in 2021. You will support Prof Cuzzolin in the overall management of
the project and Laboratory.
