*RESEARCH ASSOCIATE POSITIONS AVAILABLE in MACHINE LEARNING and SYSTEMS MEDICINE*
Two Research Associate positions are available immediately in the Department of Computational and Systems Biology, University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. The projects involve developing graphical models and other machine learning methods to perform integrative analyses on time series and longitudinal disease data. We investigate questions like: How microbiome and genetics influence the onset of chronic diseases? How lifestyle affects microbiome and response to immunotherapy in cancer? Can we make early cancer detection by combining radiological with omics and clinical data? What cell-cell interactions lead to disease development or progression? The research will be carried out in collaboration with clinical and basic science researchers at the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University. The ideal candidates will have a Ph.D. in computer science, engineering, statistics, computational biology or related field, and research experience in application of machine learning methods, signal processing, or Bayesian modeling in real-life problems. The positions are available immediately and will be open until they are filled. To apply, please upload in PDF format (preferably as single document): curriculum vitae, statement of research interests and names and contact information of three references to this link: http://www.csb.pitt.edu/Faculty/benos/?page_id=692. For more information please e-mail at be...@pitt.edu.
