I would like to advertise an open PhD position at the Roslin Institute and
the School of Informatics, at the University of Edinburgh. The PhD project
is about combining data from different experiments (data fusion) to find
new targets for therapy in a range of applications, including the
development of new antibiotics to target specific bacteria.

You will work between two world-class research centres at the University of
Edinburgh: the Roslin Institute and the School of Informatics. You will be
jointly supervised by Ken Baillie (translational genomics, sepsis,
intensive care medicine), Michael Gutmann (machine learning,
multidimensional data analysis) and Ross Fitzgerald (microbiology,
antimicrobial resistance).

The ideal candidate has a strong background in machine learning,
statistics, applied mathemetics, or similar, and a strong interest in
biomedical applications.

For further details and more PhD opportunities, see here:

For informal queries, please contact Kenneth Baillie at j.k.bail...@ed.ac.uk

The deadline for applications is Friday, April 06, 2018.

Best wishes

Michael
