The Innovation Center Computer Assisted Surgery (ICCAS) at the Medical Faculty 
of the University of Leipzig, Germany invites applications for a post-doc 
position to contribute to the exciting field of clinical decision support based 
on patient- and disease-specific decision and process models. The researcher 
will have the opportunity to conduct cutting-edge research and development 
works in computerized clinical decision support, probabilistic decision 
modeling, Bayesian networks, therapy process modeling, and processing of 
multi-modal patient data. The researcher would also be offered the chance to 
develop capabilities and expand career horizon in other research related 
aspects as medical visualization and visual analytics.

To support the ICCAS project group Digital Patient and Process Model in 
tackling clinical decision support challenges, we are looking to hire a 
researcher (f/m) with a PhD-degree in computer sciences, information systems, 
medical informatics, mathematics, or a related field, with the following 
responsibilities:

  *   Development and implementation of new concepts and methods as well as 
finalization of existing approaches to personalized, model-based clinical 
decision support
  *   Work on a decision support system for clinical expert meetings in 
oncology discussing patients with cancer (tumor boards)
  *   Acquisition of external funding
  *   Writing of scientific publications and project reports as well as 
presentation at conferences
  *   Conduction and supervision of feasibility studies and concept verification
  *   Implementation of project- and application-oriented software in a team
  *   Assistance in translating the software into the clinic
  *   Establishment of interdisciplinary collaborations between computer 
scientists, engineers, physicians, and industry

We offer a full-time contract from 1st of November, 2017 until the 31st of 
December 2018 (third-party money) with possible extension depending on the 
acquisition of further funding, payment according to the German tariff of 
public services (TV-L), family-friendly i.e. flexible working hours, and a very 
friendly and inclusive work environment. The submission deadline for 
applications is the 30th of September, 2017.
