(1) Research Fellow in Machine Learning with the Leverhulme Centre for the 
Future of Intelligence

We are seeking a highly creative and motivated Research Fellow to join the 
Machine Learning Group (http://mlg.eng.cam.ac.uk) in the Department of 
Engineering, and the Leverhulme Centre for the Future of Intelligence 
(http://lcfi.ac.uk), as a joint appointment with a desk in each, primarily 
based in the CFI, University of Cambridge, UK.

This postdoctoral Research Fellow will be working with Professor Zoubin 
Ghahramani and Dr Adrian Weller on developing theory and methods to ensure that 
machine learning/artificial intelligence systems are scalable, reliable and 
interpretable.

(2) Research Fellow in Machine Learning 

We are seeking a highly creative and motivated Research Assistant/Associate to 
join the Machine Learning Group (http://mlg.eng.cam.ac.uk) in the Department of 
Engineering, University of Cambridge, UK.

The post holder will be working on areas related to deep learning and Bayesian 
methods, as well as ideally having an interest in machine learning for hardware 
optimization. The post holder will be funded by a grant from ARM 
(https://www.arm.com/ )and will act as a liaison to relevant research teams at 
ARM. The post holder will work in collaboration with Professor Zoubin 
Ghahramani and Dr Jose Miguel Hernandez Lobato as part of the Machine Learning 
Group at Cambridge University.

In both cases, successful applicants will have or be near to completing a PhD 
in computer science, information engineering, statistics or a related area, and 
will have extensive research knowledge and experience in addition to a strong 
publication record in machine learning, including ideally papers in top machine 
learning conferences such as NIPS, UAI, ICML, and AISTATS. Excellent 
mathematical and programming skills are essential. Experience in two or more of 
the following areas: probabilistic modelling and scalable approximate 
inference; deep learning, MCMC methods; Bayesian optimization; graphical models 
will be necessary.
