ICML 2017 Call for Workshop Proposals

The International Conference on Machine Learning solicits proposals for
workshops to be held in conjunction with the ICML 2017 conference in
Sydney. The workshops will be held on Aug 10 - 11, 2017.

ICML workshops are a great opportunity for exciting and focused scientific
exchange on emerging and futuristic research topics. We welcome proposals
for both one full-day or two-day workshops. We also especially encourage
workshops that are coordinated with ICML 2017 tutorials such that both
background and state-of-the-art research naturally flow through the ICML
conference period. Note that UAI 2017 will occur during Aug 11-Aug15, 2017,
overlapping with ICML by one day (Aug 11 2017), in the same conference
venue.
Dates

   - Workshop proposal deadline: March 24 2017 5pm PT
   - Acceptance notification: April 21 2017 5pm PT
   - Workshop submissions due: May 26 2017
   - Workshop author notification: June 16 2017

Content and Format

Workshops are great forums for active research topics and for works in
progress. An ideal workshop covers a compelling selection of current and
upcoming research, and includes an impressive set of speakers and
participants from diverse backgrounds. Invited and contributed talks,
discussion via panels and attendees, identification of open problems and
poster presentations are all great components to include.
Organization

The format, style, and content of accepted workshops are under the control
of the workshop organizers and are largely autonomous from the main
conference. Each workshop day can be up to seven hours long, split into
morning and afternoon sessions. Workshop organizers are expected to manage
the workshop content, invite experts in the domain, specify the workshop
format, be present to moderate, and maintain a website for the workshop.
Workshop registration will be handled centrally by the main conference.
Note that invited speakers and workshop organizers should not expect
receiving financial support from the ICML 2017 to cover their travel,
lodging, and other types of expenses.

   - Tentative Website URL
   - Comments on:
      - Workshop history (is this the first edition of the workshop?)
      - Related ICML 2017 tutorials (is this workshop coordinated with
      an ICML 2017 tutorial?)
      - Funding status (is funding secured for this event?)

Workshop proposals should be submitted at /Workshops/workshopapplication
<https://2017.icml.cc/Workshops/workshopapplication>. If figures, Latex or
other supplemental information are nessary for review of the application,
please create a home page for your workshop and post the supplemental files
there. List your home page in the External URL field of the application
