TRAVEL SUPPORT AVAILABLE !!
We have two forms of travel support available, as described below.

1. Travel Support for Students

We have obtained grant funding that will provide a number of registration and
travel scholarships for students, to help them attend the conference. These
awards will cover registration costs for local students. For non-local
students, the award will cover up to $800 for registration, travel, and lodging
expenses.

To apply for these awards, students should send an email to Syed Rahman
(srahm...@mix.wvu.edu).

The email should include the following:

1. Confirmation that the student is planning to attend SBP-BRIMS'16

2. A simple letter of support by a faculty member confirming the applicant's
student status

3. A short paragraph outlining why the student has need for the award

These awards will be allocated on the basis of student need and available
funding. Travel scholarships are awarded in the form of travel reimbursement.
Travel scholars must and submit qualifying receipts at the end of their trip.
DEADLINE TO APPLY FOR SBP TRAVEL SCHOLARSHIPS IS MAY 16, 2016.

2. Travel Support to Promote Diversity at SBP-BRIMS'16 (for students and
non-students)

We also have funding that will provide a limited travel support (registration,
travel, hotel) for the purpose of increasing diversity at SBP-BRIMS 2016.
Support will be available to participants from underrepresented groups (racial
minority, females, or participants from the social sciences, economic or
managerial sciences, or biomedical research fields) to help them attend the
conference and contribute to the disciplinary diversity. These awards will
cover registration costs for local conference participants. For non-local
participants, the award will cover up to $800 for registration, travel, and
lodging expenses. These awards are available to students, post-docs, and
non-students who belong to one or more of the underrepresented groups indicated.

To apply for consideration, please send an email to Don Adjeroh
(d...@csee.wvu.edu<mailto:d...@csee.wvu.edu>).

The email should include the following:

1. Confirmation that you are planning to attend SBP-BRIMS'16

2. An indication of the under-represented category/categories to which you
belong. Diversity categories include Gender (i.e., females are underrepresented
at this conference), and racial or ethnic group (underrepresented groups
include African Americans, American Indians, and those of Hispanic origin).
Diversity categories also include area of study. Diverse areas of study are
those outside of the traditional STEM disciplines, and include behavioral and
social sciences, economic or managerial sciences, and biomedical research
fields.

3. (For student applicants and post-docs only) A simple letter of support by a
faculty member who knows you, confirming that you belong to the minority
category that you specified.

4. A short paragraph outlining your need for the travel support

The awards will be allocated on the basis of individual's need and available
funding. Travel scholarships are awarded in the form of travel reimbursement.
Travel scholars must and submit qualifying receipts at the end of their trip.
